We stopped in on the free day held earlier this year. Sorry, but I cannot remember why they had the free day. It was some sort of anniversary or national holiday. We passed the place a zillion times, but the chance to pop in for no cost was too great to pass up. They have it all on shells. If you have any questions on what you find on the shoreline, just take your treasure in for a quick analysis.

See the plaque out front which highlights Raymond Burr (an actor from the past that played in Ironside and Perry Mason TV shows). He pumped tons of cash into the project.

This Sanibel Attraction is for children too! Yes, they did a bunch of things to keep them happy. Ask the front desk when you arrive.

If you are vacationing in Sanibel or enjoy the beach, this is one of the neat things to do. The Bailey-Matthews Shell Museum is dedicated to shells (habitat, fossils, education, and more).
