This is the island for activities involving water sports and the hotel's beachside location make it perfect for fun. There are more places to rent kayaks on the island than in years past. It's cheap and extremely fun, just make sure you go when the winds are calm and the weather comfortable. Tarpon Bay Explorers fits the bill perfectly and is only a short bicycle ride away.

Three Nights at the Sanibel Inn
One fine hotel for a stay and play weekend on Sanibel Island. It is all too nice and so relaxing!

East Gulf Drive Sanibel
The complex has 30 units and a big key here is the minimum stay is only one day. Amenities include the elevator, swimming pool, and tennis.

Your Perfect Florida Beach Getaway
What really makes this hotel are the screened terraces off the backend of the hotel living room. It gives the rooms so much depth and when inside, you always feel like part of the outdoors. When the storms roll in off the gulf, it is a pleasure to watch the nature. Typically, I do not like rain and storms. But off the screened terrace, these are things of beauty.
