The really cool places to go on the island are somewhere scenic! Along the neat journey of Wildlife Drive is the big nature viewing tower. This is one of the better places to observe the various marine and wildlife.

Video from the Sanibel Island Viewing Tower
You will find the big Viewing Tower along Wildlife Drive, kind of smack in the middle of the nature refuge. The colorful birds play and eat here in the flat-lands just a stones toss in front of you. It is really nice early in the morning.

See it All from the Tower
We found out on the wildlife tram that Sanibel is 5 miles by 12 miles in length. It is much wider than we had believed.

Very fun spot to see stuff, go early if you can. There are other observation platforms that are more dock like which get you close to the action. You can also fish here with the standard Sanibel-Captiva fishing regulations for keepers.
