This center itself is a great place to browse for all things for your beach day, this mixture of cute shops has it all. The bakery inside the grocery store is amazing.

Wet-wearable Active Shoes for Boaters
There is only one good kind of shoe to use on a day to day basis here on Sanibel. Yes, be sure to pick out a wet-wearable. These shoes can get wet and do not soak up any water at all. You can jump out of the boat in 12 inches of water, to pull the boat in. Or walk along the shoreline splashing away.
