Bicycle Riding Pathway to the Island

This is a fun ride, filled with very scenic waterfront views. Once you go to the gate, the trail veers west ride along the backcountry of Tarpon Bay. There are bunch of places that have been set up for strategic nature viewing. You can fish back here to and there is an area for kayak launching. This boat launch area is underutilized, since so few people actually realize it is even there. Now you know a Sanibel secret!

Bicycle or Kayak at Ding Darling
It is excellent for bicycle riding. Plus, Ding Darling has two kayak launch zones along Wildlife Drive.

It is Better with Nice Weather
Ride along the waterfront with special views only found here at this giant nature park. The road is a little bumpy in certain parts, but other than that it is just peachy. Pick a time that the weather is nice, bright, and the winds are calm. If so, expect to see a lot more marine life since you can see into the water. Walking is excellent, there is a short course and long course, all mapped out for you. Ask the attendant at the front.
