Get on a boat anyway you can in Sanibel! What fun is a day out around the area by water. It eats me up. You have tons of destination choices, and the boater friendly restaurants over at Ft. Myers Beach make it a very attractive option.

Taking advantage of the Beach Bars In our setting, the boating could not be better with bountiful surroundings. A fishing person's dream spot. We like Doc Fords a bunch, plus the second floor bar at the Matanzas Inn.
Crossing the Water to Fort Myers Beach If you hug the coastline it cuts the travel time way off from Sanibel to the bayside of Fort Myers Beach. Try to watch for boaters and water depths a few times over the causeway bridge and take that route.

Perfect Weekend Thing to Do! I really like this area, with all the restaurants on both sides of the waterway. Also Bonita Beach is just past Lovers Key State Park, and it is great to boat down to and back for a day trip.
