The best bicycling area is right there on Periwinkle Way. This Sanibel Main Street runs smack through the Island and is lined with beach shops, unique boutiques, art galleries, and cafe dining spots. Do not laugh, but the Dairy Queen on Periwinkle is unbelievably yummy. It is more fun that sipping champagne!

Planning Ahead for Sanibel Storms We make a big deal of the trip planning weather, so we can ride bikes and play golf with limited chance of storms. Now our vacation schedule is for April, where the average monthly rainfall is less than 2 inches (same for November and December). These three months have less rain and do not have lightning storms.
