We took a chance and got a sweet discount on a room. The key is to make that phone call or walk in when the hotel has loads of empty rooms. More Sanibel Hotels should offer locals last minute deals since the vacancy is so high in the summer. A little negotiating on the phone can only help matters. Super area.

Dynamite Gulfside Beach Stay
So many shells and lots of surprises along the shore. Very fun happy hour bar by the pool, while the children swim.

Help with Sanibel Hotel Discounts
It is official. We are going to Sanibel! I got off from work and we have a reservation to stay at West Wind Inn on Jul 29 and Jul 30. If there is a storm, we can cancel by Jul 28 with no penalty. Yeah, we are going to Sanibel. Yeah. I will come down this weekend if it is not going to rain.

Add it to the Approved Sanibel Hotel List
Stopped in today to checkout the West Wind Inn. The grounds were clean, clear, and employees were working all over the place. Got to peek into a room and it looked great, not as dated as the hotel website photos seemed to show it. The key would be getting a really good rate. What a nice area.

Relaxing Summer Island Beach Vacations
Our real estate agent told us this was a good one, so stopped in and inquired about a room. Go with the second floor if you can, but the ground floor units are quicker for in and out access to the beach and pool. Thanks to the hotel for the walk-in discount.
